Wimshurst Static Electricity Generator

The Wimshurst static  electricity generator machine is a low price machine with high quality  use for classroom demonstration of high voltage electrostatic charges.  The rotating disks are of clear acrylic. The foil srtips and brushes are  of good quality as are the insulated cylindeical capacitors.

Turning the crank will spin the  disks and charge them to a very high voltage. This will be noticeable in  several ways including the noise of small sparks between the foil  sectors, an ozone smell, and the tingling in your hand caused by the  electric field. Drier conditions will give better results.
